SEACOM, INC. (formerly SEA COMMERCIAL COMPANY, INC.) started its operations in September 1949 as a single proprietorship . It was founded by the late Mr. Jose G. Sanvictores, one of the foremost advocates of the Philippine Independence, who ventured into business with the conviction that our newly attained political freedom would be inadequate and meaningless unless coupled with economic self-sufficiency. SEACOM started with minimal capitalization with personnel of three (3) men, in an inconspicuous place at Soler St., Quiapo, Manila.
